Welcome to It Takes A Village MN

We believe a “hand-up” is better than a “hand-out.” We started serving the children and adults of our Northside community after the death of George Floyd, and we continue to make a positive impact through youth development and food distribution. It Takes A Village MN is a learning center where youth can be safe, get help with schoolwork, and use resources to help reach their fullest potential.

What We Do

Youth Development focused on Entrepreneurship

We want to be a part of the change to help students in low income households be at or above grade level in school. We offer mentoring, tutoring, and a community for kids to thrive. Our youth have a countless amount of activities to mold and shape their bright futures into entrepreneurship.

It takes a village to raise a child is an African proverb that means that an entire community of people must interact with children for those children to experience and grow in a safe and healthy environment.

Mission

It Takes a Village exists to elevate the educational and emotional success of the children of the Cleveland community in North Minneapolis through after-school educational support, fun activities, and additional community education. With our village of donors and volunteers from in and around the community, we will create a positive space that reflects the promising future of the area. Our sponsor B&M Entertainment LLC hosts concerts and events monthly through their "Concerts with a Cause" with the hopes to raise money for our ongoing programs.
